Growing Baby

This past weekend was very busy. Well it was busy for Noelle. She got to meet her Grandma and Grandpa Pfeil, Her Aunt Becky and her uncles Mark and Martin. Now the only one she hasn't met yet on the immediate Pfeil side is Aunt Teandra, Mark's wife. (We love the blanket and cute clothes you got us!!) She was sure the complete CENTER of attention. But I'm sure she didn't mind. We stayed at my parents house for a couple of days because Michael had some family stuff to do. So in addition to Michael's family we were around mine also. But we loved it! Noelle's sleeping schedule was a little off. It seemed with so many people around she didn't want to sleep AT ALL. She's getting back into a normal schedule now. She still doesn't sleep straight through the night, but I'm sure it will come one day. Last week when we took her in to the doctor's office she weighed 10lbs 2oz! She is growing so well. We also talked to the doctor and he said that she only has to be on her oxygen during the night and when she sleeps unsupervised. So we were soooo excited. It's so nice not to have to carry around her oxygen tank in the middle of the day. She is getting to be so much fun and making all kinds of cute baby noises. Her hair is also growing in really fast. We just love her sooooo much. She is the center of our lives and makes us feel whole!

Tough Noelle

So it has been brought to our attention that our little 3 month old (adjusted age: age according to my due date, only 1 month old) is teething. I did not think this was possible so early. One day we noticed that her gums were bleeding and she was drooling more than normal. Her sleeping schedule was off and when she would eat she would cry more than usual. We called her doctor and he said that is was very rare, especially for a preemie but that it was possible. He told us to give her some Tylenol. Well a few days went by and I still didn't believe it until I saw the two little white spots on her bottom gums which were her teeth coming on through. When we realized we could give her tylenol we were really grateful and it helped so so much. She is still on oxygen and she is teething and technically she is only one month old. We have a tough little girl!

Results

I love our new apartment! It's such a difference compared with our old one. We had some not so good leaking/mold problems that I don't even want to go in to. We're in a basement apartment and the family is so great. They have three little boys, who we do hear running around upstairs but it doesn't bug us. After all we do have a baby who likes to cry (very loud) once in a while. Everything is new and I love the kitchen. I actually enjoy cleaning it and doing the dishes. Who would've thought? This has definitely given me some ideas with what I want for our own house one day.

Well, Noelle is doing good. She's getting bigger every day and is staying awake more. She has actually almost grown out of the newborn clothes, I can't even believe it. Sometimes I can't even believe that she was so much smaller than she is now. Noelle's doctor wanted to do a trial without her oxygen. I was so excited! "My baby finally gets to have the oxygen cannula taken off!" I can't even tell you how this made me feel. (These pictures are of her right after we took the cannula out of her nose) Well the trial was for about 12 hours. She got to have this little monitor on her foot that tested her blood oxygen level. She LOVED having the cannula off. We were so excited to get the results because we were POSITIVE that they would be good and we could celebrate not having to wheel around her oxygen tank around the house and to grandma's. Well the nurse called and gave me the OPPOSITE news that I wanted to hear. (of course) For the most part her oxygen stayed at a great level, but it seemed that when she slept it would go down. This happened more than just a couple times and so the doctor wants to keep her on oxygen for the next two months, and then after that we will do another trial to see where she is at. Of course I want the best for my little daughter, but after hearing the news I just cried. I loved seeing my happy baby with it off. You could tell the difference it made. But I will continue to be patient. At least she is healthy and home with us.














Lately I have been a little down. So many things that we were hoping to work out just haven't and I just feel lost. When it rains it pours, right? I'm really trying to be positive and optimistic. A very good friend of mine just recently told me something that a member of the seventy (i think) told her: Our faith today isn't sufficient for tomorrow, we must help it to grow EVERY day. (sorry if I totally butchered that and if it doesn't make sense). So for now, I'm just going to trust that things will work out the way Heavenly Father said it will. I know He keeps his promises and I trust Him, I just need to increase my faith.

Christmas and changes

I hope everyone's Christmas was good. Ours was great! We spent practically the whole week with my parents in West Jordan. It was nice to be with family for the holidays. Taylor is the only one living with my parents right now and it was great to be with them. I never thought I would say this but one of the highlights this past holiday weekend was the Wii my parents got for the family. It has been soooo much fun to play. And they have an amazing television to play it on. I even beat my husband Michael once in golf :). That felt great. Noelle got a few fun toys and a darling dress. I can't wait until she can actually play with them. She's starting to make cute baby noises. Sometimes it looks like she has so much to say! She's getting so big and the newborn clothes are fitting her perfectly now.

Me and Michael went and saw a movie while my family watched Noelle. It was weird leaving Noelle but it was great spending time with Michael. I'm so grateful for my family and how much they have done for us and have helped us with. I can't even express it. We owe them so much and I really don't know what we would do without them.

This Christmas was different because two people from our family weren't there, Eric and Alyson. Whenever Eric was around for the holidays he always had so much fun and was a blast to be around. It was hard not having him there. We miss him so much. It really made me think about the true meaning of Christmas and the sacrifice of our Savior. Without Him I wouldn't know that I will see my brother again and that families can be together forever. Nothing is even possible without him. I know Eric was there with us.

Alyson is in the MTC in Spain. We got to talk to her on Christmas for about 40 minutes. It was great to hear her voice and know that she is doing so well. It also put in to perspective what Christmas was all about. God loves all of his children and we are each important to him. This is a gospel of happiness and everything about it will make us feel joy if we let it. Alyson is doing great and will go in to the mission field really soon.

One last thing... We are moving to Ogden, Utah this Saturday! Michael will be starting school at Weber State on Jan. 5th where he will finish a bachelor degree in German (commercial emphasis) and a minor in Criminal Justice. We are so excited for this change in our lives and know it is what we are suppose to do. We've known for a while that we are suppose to go up there we just haven't worked out all the details. It seemed that everything got put on hold when Noelle was born. Everything has just recently fell in to place and so now we are rushing to get everything ready. I am very excited for our new little apartment because it now has two bedrooms and counter space in the kitchen. (I know it seems like something silly to be excited about but our little cottage right now is tiny! And there is no counter space whatsoever.)
